Checking Clinic
Checking goes far beyond "body contact" at Peak Performance Hockey. Our checking programs focus on 6 components of checking:
1) skating,
2) angling and positioning,
3) stick positioning/checking,
4) receiving a body check,
5) contact balance/confidence,
6) body checking.
These components along with "ice-awareness" are present in almost every level of hockey. It is essential to prepare players to advance into the next level with a solid understanding of the core skills, which will lead to increased confidence. At Peak, our checking clinics are customized to the age of the players.
